Mother’s maternity baggage

As a mother-to-be, it’s a good idea to start packing your maternity bag as early as the seventh month of pregnancy. Whether you give birth in a state hospital or a private hospital, we have prepared below those items that are specific to you as a mother, apart from personal hygiene items, which you have anyway:

  • Hair brush
  • Elastics and hair clips
  • Toothbrush and toothpaste
  • Soap, shower gel and shampoo
  • Perfume and deodorant
  • Slippers and socks
  • Towel, wet/dry wipes
  • Phone and charger
  • Clothes and shoes you’ll wear in and out of the hospital,

necessary for the few days in hospital, but also for the first days at home, when HE or SHE will be born. These are products that I was absolutely delighted with and highly recommend for their exceptional quality.

In your maternity bag, you will also need the following documents when you go into hospital:

  • Mother’s identity card, original and copy
  • Mother’s health card
  • Medical file with all medical tests and ultrasounds related to the pregnancy period
  • Employee’s certificate stating that health insurance has been paid.

The documents required for the declaration of the child are:

  • Mother’s and father’s identity card, original and copy
  • Marriage certificate (if applicable), original and copy
  • Mother’s birth certificate (if unmarried), original and copy
  • Medical certificate of birth

Baby’s maternity bag

If packing for you as a mother seems to be just a necessary thing, procuring the items that announce the arrival of the baby is certainly one of the greatest pleasures in the world, mixed with a lot of excitement and sweetness…

Even if some maternity hospitals provide the necessary items for the newborn’s stay in the hospital for the first days of life, you will still need the same items as soon as you get home. So, here’s what you should pack for your future little “wonders” for the minimum 3 days in hospital:

Newborn babies’ nappies, suitable for the season in which they will be born, made of natural materials (cotton), washed and ironed beforehand:

For nappy changing, your baby may need 6-8 nappies a day, sometimes as many as 10:

For daily hygiene, bath:

  • A season-appropriate set of clothes for leaving the hospital and a shell for the car (which Daddy will bring at discharge)
